We have two runners on Friday, at Sedgefield where the going on the hurdles course is currently described as good to soft, soft in places, and at Sandown where the going on the chase course is good to soft, good in places, soft in places stands' side.
Trac who improved out of all recognition last season culminating in a win at Carlisle in April, in the £15,000 'Go North One Man Series Final Handicap Chase,' makes the long journey down to Sandown to contest the 0-125 handicap chase, over over the extended one mile and seven furlongs, at 1.23.pm, where he will be partnered by his regular jockey Conor O'Farrell. Trac who appreciates plenty of cut underfoot had his pipe opener at Kelso 27 days ago, which should have put him straight, and he goes in to this 5lb above his last winning mark.
At Sedgefield, Ambassador has been declared for the 0-105 handicap hurdle, at 2.20.pm, over the extended two miles, with Josh Thompson, who has won on him three times previously, taking the ride. Ambassador was a clear cut winner at his favourite track Uttoxeter back in July, from a 2lb lower mark than now, but in three starts since over timber he has failed to match that effort. He does go in soft ground, but is probably better on a sound surface.
